Since 2014, Ukraine has always faced the threat of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. This was understood by many Ukrainians, although they did not fully believe. When, at the end of 2021, Russia began to pull troops to our border, it became clear to me that the new part of our war would soon begin. Of course, I, like many Ukrainians, began to experience anxiety and fear. And I started visualizing it with photography.

The magma in nature is underground, reaching enormous temperatures. When it comes to the ground, it turns into lava. I thought it was a good metaphor for what’s going on.
